  • Firma Melodiya presents a rare collection of violin duet music. Leonid Kogan is one of the greatest violinists of the 20th century. He was often compared with Niccolò Paganini, and his performances from a very young age to his last concerts entranced the audiences in any part of the world.
  • This is a recording of a rare genre of violin duet without accompaniment. The music of German and French baroque – sonatas by Georg Philipp Telemann and Jean-Marie Leclair – is next to a duet by the great Belgian violinist and composer Eugène Ysaÿe. Elizaveta Gilels, a talented violinist, pupil of Pyotr Stolyarsky, Miron Polyakin and Abram Yampolsky, professor of the Moscow Conservatory and pianist Emil Gilels¡¯s sister.
