바로크 종교 음악을 중심으로 수많은 명연을 선보인 복스 루미니스가 바흐와 헨델의 대표적 종교 작품을 동시에 들려준다.
헨델의 딕시트 도미누스(주께서 말씀하셨다)는 바로크 스타일로 쓰여진 헨델의 초기 걸작으로 바흐의 종교 작품과 비교해보기에 가장 좋은 작품이다. 때문에 바흐의 마니피카트와 헨델의 딕시트 도미누스는 종종 같이 공연되거나 녹음되기도 하는데 철저한 고증을 거친 복스 루미누스의 새녹음은 단연 발군이다.
합창과 오케스트라는 당대의 기준에 따른 소규모 편성으로 과중한 무게를 덜어낸 밝고 투명한 앙상블이 신선한 감흥을 안겨준다.

The Observer 14th January 2018 It’s refreshing to hear both without pile-driving rhythms and over-assertive singing. The gentle inflections and piercing precision of the Handel makes it more successful, highlighting the Italianate background of the piece; the even more demanding Bach taxes the soloists’ skills, though the clarity of the ensemble shines through this most concise of masterpieces.
