헨델의 <대관식> 앤섬은 조지 2세의 대관식을 위해서 작곡한 이래 지금까지 역대 영국 국왕들의 대관식에서 연주되고 있는 명곡이다.
좋은 연주가 많이 있는 작품이지만, 로렌스 커밍스가 자신이 음악감독으로 있는 2014년 괴팅엔 국제 헨델 페스티벌에서 페스티벌 오케스트라와 NDR 합창단을 이끌고 연주했던 실황 녹음은 작품의 축전적 성격과 양식미를 잘 살린 연주로 큰 찬사를 받았던 것이다. 더불어 이 음반에는 <에스더>의 1732년 연주 판본에서 고른 합창곡들이 함께 실려 있어서 헨델 음악 애호가들을 즐겁게 한다.
