딜럭스 에디션의 발매가 꾸준히 이루어지고 있는 Who의 명작이자, 영화와 뮤지컬로도 제작된 바 있는 `Tommy`의 딜럭스 에디션.

설명이 필요없는 그들의 최고 명작 중 하나이며 록 오페라의 양식을 구체적이고 완벽하게 구현한 록 역사상 가장 중요한 작품이기도 하다.

당시 Roger Daltrey와 Peter Townshend라는 두 천재가, 음악의 형식 뿐 아니라 사운드에 관한 다양한 실험을 했던 앨범인만큼 특별히 5.1채널 서라운드 사운드를 지원하는 SACD 겸용으로 제작되었다.

별도로 추가된 2번째 디스크에는 미공개 음원들이 담겨 있다.
