Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab once again is presenting the finest in classical music. This stunning recording was previously only available as part of a larger collection. This is its first release as a single disc and is being re-issued in surround as originally recorded for Vox.

This score was composed for Eisenstein's early 1940s film and can rightfully be considered a companion piece to his and Prokofiev's Alexander Nevsky, considered a masterpiece for both creators. The full spectrum of this stellar recording is unveiled as four channels of stunning detail and imaging enabling listeners to experience the studio recording as in a concert hall setting! The Vox catalogue has long been among the most respected and this recording from 1979 by Leonard Slatkin and the Saint Louis Symphony is one of its jewels. This Ultradisc UHR¢â SACD was mastered by MFSL, same team responsible for the acclaimed version of Ravel's Bolero.

First time in Multi-Channel, Prokofiev's Ivan the Terrible, previously only available as part of a larger collection is now available from MFSL and SACD!
