아르메니아를 그리스도교 국가로 개종시켰던 성인 그레고리와 국왕 티리다테스의 전설을 발레와 칸타타를 혼합한 무대극화 한 작품이다.

클래식 악기로 아르메니아의 선율과 리듬이 연주되는데 큭히 목관과 현의 환상적인화음, 가슴을 울리는 타악의 향연, 그리고 소프라노의 이국적인 목소리는 우리를 4세기 아르메니아의 역사속으로 안내하고 있다.

긴장감 넘치는 악곡의 구성과 묵직하면서도 부드럽게 깔리는 낙월한 녹음이 우리의 귀를 사로 잡고 있다.
