미국 태생이지만, 프랑스에서 각종 시상식의 주인공이 되며, 최근 두각을 보이고 있는 두 명의 피아니스트 노엘 리와 제프 코헨의 피아노 작품집으로 20세기 초반 비극적인 생애를 살다간 암스테르담 출신의 네오 스미트와 부다페스트의 조셉 코스마, 그리고 갈리시아의 노베르트 클랑즈버그의 대표작들이 담겨져 있다. 서유럽 유대인들을 뜻하는 아슈케나짐 출신들인 이들 뮤지션들은 프랑스를 비롯한 문화의 요충지에서 큰 반향을 불러일으키는 작품들을 남겼는데, 우리에게는 ‘Autumnn leasves`와 ’Padam, Padam`의 원작자로 잘 알려져 있는 코스마의 발레 작품과 영화음악 작곡자로 유명한 글랑즈버그의 이디쉬 조곡모음 등이 앨범을 장식하고있다.
