비잔틴 시대의 신선주간과 부활절 성가집그리스 정교회, 그리고 비잔틴 예술이 꽃피던 시기의 성가집을 모아놓은 서양 음악사의 기념비적인 음반. 부활절 기간동안 요일마다, 그리고 아치ㅁ, 저녁에 각각 불리는 성가의 형태를 모두 복원하여 레코딩으로 남겼다. 그레고리안 성가 이후 서양 음악과의 차이를 확연히 알 수 있는 음악 형태도 인상적이지만, 자세히 표기해 놓은 해설지와 함께 비잔틴 문화에 대한 이해를 높일 수 있는 귀중한 자료이다.
