러시아 국립 관현악단을 객원지휘하며 화려하게 데뷔하여 화제를 모아온 카를로 폰티가 무소르크스키의 관현악 명곡들로 데뷔음반을 발표하였다.

러시아 관현악의 호방한 전통과 서유럽의 섬세한 미학이 합일을 이룬 연주로 <전람회의 그림>의 다채로운 콘트라스트, 묵직한 <민둥산의 하룻밤>이 이어진다.

무엇보다 미완성 오페라 <소로친스크의 시장>, <호반시치나> 두 작품 주요 관현악 곡이 이들의 완벽한 호흡을 통해 최고의 서정미학을 전한다.
