Pierre Monteux reunited three decades later with the orchestra he led in the early 1920's, to produce a "Pathetique" both gripping and exhilarating.

When remastering the original recordings, John Newton and his engineering team used only two of the available six channels on the SACD disc because that was the vision of the original producers.
