<다니엘과 사자>는 전례 드라마로서 크리스마스 사이클의 한 부분이다.

1140년경 Episcopal School of Beauvais의 한 젊은 학자에 의해 착안된 이 드라마는 그 원본은 남아있지 않고 1230년경에 만들어진 카피본이 영국 박물관에 보존되어 있다.

그것을 기초로 본래는 단성이었으나 Renz가 편곡하고 적당한 리듬 패턴을 가미했으며 여기에 악기를 동원해 보다 살아있고 컬러플한 생생한 전례 드라마를 재탄생시켰다.
