Originally released in 1982, ‘Avalon’ was the 8th and final studio album by Roxy Music. The album went straight to no. 1 in the UK (for 3 weeks) and became their biggest success in the U.S. (no. 27) where it went gold and eventually reached platinum status. It also spawned some of the band’s most commercially accessible singles ‘More Than This’, ‘Avalon’ and ‘Take A Chance With Me’.

To celebrate the 21st anniversary of this ‘classic’ album, Virgin Records have remixed the album to SACD 5.1 surround format and remastered it using DSD converters, to bring the most amazing audio experience achievable. The SACD packaging will also include a 12 page booklet with new liner notes by Rhett Davies (original producer) plus previously unseen / rarely seen photos of the band from the ‘Avalon’ years.
