남자 무용수들이 얼굴에 짙은 화장을 하고 다리가 훤히 드러나는 클래식 뛰뛰에 토슈즈를 신은 채 발레리나의 춤을 춘다.
‘트록스’라는 애칭으로 불리는 트로카데로 발레단의 공연 실황이다.
스탭을 제외한 전원이 남성으로 구성된 이 발레단의 목표는 “전통적인 고전 낭만발레를 패러디 또는 성(性)을 바꾸어 공연함으로써 유쾌한 활력이 넘치는 오락거리로서의 발레를 보여주는 것”이다.
쉽게 말해 코믹하고 엽기적인 발레인 것이다.
그렇지만 탄탄한 기본기, 원작의 본질을 나름대로 지켜내는 안목, 단원들이 참여하는 기발한 아이디어 등등으로 많은 무용관계자들로부터 예상외의 높은 평가를 받고 있고 그 덕분에 30년 이상 트라베스티(성 역할 전환) 발레단으로서 장수할 수 있었다.
1, 2집으로 구성되었는데 2집에서 ‘레 실피드’, ‘파 드 캬트르’, ‘파키타’, ‘빈사의 백조’ 등의 명작이 실렸다. 그 유쾌한 패러디를 맘껏 즐기시라!
