20세기초 독일을 대표하는 바이올리니스트, 게오르그 쿨렌캄프의 귀한 연주반. 요아힘-헤스로 이어지는 독일 전통을 계승한 바이올리니스트이다. 나치 지배하의 독일에서 활동하며, 슈만의 협주곡 초연을 담당하였다. 나치의 무리한 요구를 피해 1944년 스위스로 망명하였고, 1948년에 50세로 사망하였다. 모차르트 소나타 K454와 베토벤 소나타 9번 ‘크로이처’ 브람스 1-3번 연주(194,48년 녹음). 큰 스케일의 구성과, 화려한 기교보다는 음악에 충실한 소박한 아름다움의 연주로, 우아하고 깊은 멋을 지니고 있다. 젊은 시절 재능 있는 피아니스트였던 솔티가 반주자로, 바이올린과 균형을 유지하며 유려한 연주를 펼치고 있다.
