베를리오즈의 레퀴엠은 아마도 음악 역사상 가장 극적이면서 동시에 비종교적인 레퀴엠일 것이다. 400명이 넘는 거대한 오케스트라와 합창단을 동원하여 화려한 색채와 거대한 드라마를 구축했던 베를리오즈의 의도를 재현하여 빛나는 낭만주의의 정수를 살려낸 로저 노링턴의 손길은 작품의 진가를 보여주고 있다. SACD의 명쾌한 음향도 작품의 특성을 더욱 돋보이게 만들고 있다.
